Control panel
Since there's no hardware or software for administrators to worry about, day-to-day management of your organization's Google services is accomplished through a simple online control panel. Administrators can access this tool from any internet-connected computer, so it's easy to make changes whenever you need to.
Manage user accounts
From the control panel, administrators can easily add, modify and remove user accounts on your domain. If you want to add or modify a whole batch of user accounts, the control panel allows you to upload your changes from a spreadsheet file. Mailing lists and user aliases can also be configured here.
Customize and configure your services
You can make Google applications look and operate differently from the control panel, too. With a few clicks, you can brand Google's applications with your own logo and change the color scheme and URLs where your users sign in. To adjust user sharing options or access the configuration page for policy management and message discovery (Premier Edition only), the control panel is also where to start.
Modify and publish your pages
Administrators can also access the tools for editing and publishing web pages and the Start Page from the control panel. These tools do not require any technical expertise; creating a customized web page is as easy as editing a document. As you edit your pages, what you see is how your page will look on the web. When you're happy with how things look, you can publish your pages with just one click.
Migrate your existing email archives to Google Apps
Email migration enables domain administrators to transfer the existing contents of users' mailboxes from an IMAP server to Gmail. Gmail will retain the original sender, recipient, and date of each migrated message. Additionally, the folder structure of the old mailbox is preserved using Gmail labels. Learn more

Email routing allows organizations using Premier or Education Edition to run Google Apps alongside another email solution. This means administrators can easily run a pilot program of Google Apps without turning off the existing email system, migrate just a subset of users to Google Apps, or segregate groups of users with special needs onto a separate email solution.
