Lenoir, North Carolina

Google is proud to call North Carolina home to one of our data centers.

In 2007, we announced plans to construct a data center complex in Caldwell County, NC—investing $1.2 billion in the facility and establishing a long-term commitment to the region and state. Now a fully operational site, we've created over 110 jobs on site, and we work hard to support the communities in which our employees live and work.

Since 2009, we've awarded more than $3.6 million to local schools and nonprofits. We've invested in several green initiatives, including a collaboration with Duke University and Duke Energy to turn hog waste at a Yadkin County farm into renewable energy. We also support educational initiatives in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through grants, events, and programs.

On this site, you can meet some of our employees and see how we're giving back to the community.

Why did Google choose Lenoir?

Lenoir has the right combination of energy infrastructure, developable land, and available workforce for the data center.
