Inside Google Boulder

Living and working in Boulder means never being more than a few minutes away from some of the best hiking, cycling and climbing on the continent. If spending time outdoors is important to you, there really aren’t many better places to be than Boulder. With more than 300 days of sun a year, it’s not uncommon for Boulder Googlers to slip out of the office for a workout in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

This is a great place to work out your brain, too. Boulder Googlers work on exciting, relevant and high-impact projects. Our engineers have made contributions to everything from software tools for Chrome application developers to the mission-critical billing systems behind our advertising products. Engineering not your bag? No worries - we’ve got a healthy team of sales, marketing, quality assurance and operations Googlers here, too.

We maintain a close relationship with the University of Colorado, whose main campus is only about a mile from our brand-new office. Boulder is home to some of the nation’s top research and scientific institutions; in Boulder’s dozens of unique bars, restaurants and coffee houses, you never know what you’ll end up discussing - or who you’ll end up discussing it with.

“No one sits behind a closed door,” says Scott Green, our engineering site director. “We can work from anywhere in the building: the deck with a view of the mountains, the massage chair in the library, or the gallery overlooking the climbing wall. My favorite thing about the Boulder office is the people. Folks here really care about their projects.”
