The role: HR Business Partner

People Operations strives to revolutionize human resources the same way that Google has revolutionized search. We are helping to find, grow and keep the remarkable assemblage of talent who are our Googlers. You'll be a champion of Google's culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their organizations and make sure all people decisions are based on data. Whether coaching your clients on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our Googlers, you are exceptionally focused on putting them first, and being as clear and transparent as possible to help Googlers understand how people decisions get made. You will join the Tech HR group and be both hands-on and strategic to provide human resources expertise in the areas of employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development and more. This is a true generalist role that that will support an engineering office and will work closely with the management team and employees on people related issues. You will be instrumental in initiating and driving HR programs/initiatives within those organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead core HR programs (calibration, compensation cycle, promotions, etc.). Provide ongoing influence of client group for range of programs and issues (counter offers, compensation planning, performance issues).
  • Offer thought-leadership regarding organizational/people related strategy and execution.
  • Provide data to guide decision-making and provide proactive solutions.
  • Develop people strategies and design approaches for diagnosing and enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree; in lieu of degree, 6 years of relevant HR Business Partner or Generalist experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or other related MA degree.
  • Experience managing employee relations and investigations issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data, using HRIS systems for reporting.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships at all levels and geographies throughout the organization and cross-functionally. Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Flexible work style and approach based on client needs. Experience working from distributed offices and in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven project management and operations skills with demonstrated ability to manage global projects and initiatives.
