The role: Datacenter Security Manager

Security is at the core of Google's design and development process: it is built into the DNA of our products. The same is true of our offices. You're an expert who shares our seriousness about security and our commitment to confidentiality. You'll manage the security staff who keep our Googlers safe and our world-class technologies and facilities secure. You'll collaborate with our Facilities Management team to create innovative security strategies, investigate breaches and create risk assessment plans for the future. You believe that providing effective security doesn't come at the expense of customer service - you will be our bodyguard (and our long lost pal).

As Datacenter Security manager, you will be in charge of managing vendors providing guard force services and maintaining close partnerships with cross-functional teams to ensure a secure working environment. This position will be located in the Council Bluffs, IA Datacenter, but will be responsible for security at other datacenter locations as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement corporate security standards, policies and practices to make continual improvements and increase the effectiveness of the security program
  • Oversee management of security vendors providing guard force staffing, Conduct awareness training, risk assessments, and monitor local and regional issues that may affect Google data center business operations
  • Deliver training on security topics, assist in the coordination of security services to support planned and unplanned operations, and support incident investigation efforts
  • Offer guidance and consultation to Facility and Operations Management
  • Liaise with public safety to ensure strong community relations and training synergies

Minimum qualifications:

  • 4 year Bachelors Degree Required. In lieu of Degree, 4 years of work experience in relevant field.
  • 5 years experience managing security operations in a fast paced corporate environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge and experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, and Incident Management Systems, Security Operations Centers
  • Experience conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working around active construction sites and providing countermeasures to minimize loss
