The role: AdWords and Sales Technology Solutions, Customer Solutions Engineer (Sales Engineer)

Technology is at the core of everything we do, especially in the world of Internet advertising. Sales Engineers are the behind-the-scenes brains for the proposals the Partner Development team pitches to our partners. Your strong software development background, detailed knowledge of web technologies and online advertising are key to working with the engineering and sales teams to create custom solutions for our partners. You are responsible for the entire technical back-end, from interpreting and writing technical specifications to the creation and implementation of the final plan. As the go-to technical expert for the team, you help design the solutions that make our partnerships successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide training on Google’s APIs, support implementations and provide consulting services to help clients create succesful applications.
  • Evangelize the use of Google APIs though events, blog posts and other PR activities.
  • Provide technical consulting and propose feasible solutions according to products' Terms and Conditions'.
  • Solve customers' business issues with Google technology, brainstorming with the Sales team on technical propositions to enhance customer websites around three vectors: traffic building, user engagement, and conversion capabilities.
  • Propose, design, create and present prototypes, demos and proofs of concept to a wide variety of audiences, which include marketing professionals and engineers.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical sales or field sales experience, with business knowledge.
  • Application development experience, within UNIX and Windows environments.
  • Strong technical background in Web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, XML, DNS, and TCP/IP, and experience with web services (SOAP, WSDL, and Apache Axis).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Sales engineering or professional consulting experience.
  • Excellent coding skills in Java, Python, C++, or PHP.
  • Working knowledge of relational database administration (MySQL).
  • Excellent communication skills, proven ability to adapt your presentations to the technical level of the audience, and comfort with presenting technical materials to large groups.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
