The regional Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams partner closely with our major advertising clients and agencies to develop digital solutions that build our clients' businesses and brands. We are in a unique and exciting position to shape how marketing and business is conducted in the digital age. We generate revenue from across Google's broad range of solutions, from Google AdWords, to YouTube, to Mobile, that help our customers connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences and get the most out of the web.

The role: Agency Relationship Manager

Reach for new revenue-generating heights as a Sales Googler. Businesses that partner with Google come in all shapes, sizes and market caps, and no one Google advertising solution works for all. Your knowledge of online media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities shapes how new and existing business grow. You leverage your entrepreneurial drive to target, educate and persuade new customers to embrace Google's latest advertising products and technologies. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, understand the details of individual campaigns and persistently explore and uncover the business needs of your key clients. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

The Agency Relationship Manager develops and uses a deep knowledge of the Agency business in a market to build the strategies, plans and contacts to enter, capture and grow a Segment/s of the Agency Sector (e.g. Traditional, Interactive etc.). The individual acts as an intermediary between any one Agency, the Agency’s Clients’ industries and Google PODs; driving alignment of people and priorities to deliver advertising and new media solutions against Agency-managed Client needs. The Agency Relationship Manager aims primarily to drive the adoption of Google by Agencies and increase Agency online advertising spend. To do this, the Agency Relationship Manager networks and identifies key contacts within Agencies; keeps current on Google products and technologies and their ability to address Agency needs; uses sales tools, practices, Google and Industry knowledge; and effective presentations to persuade Agencies to leverage Google products, support and help Agencies grow. They also help manage conflict within Agencies and oversee day-to-day Agency contact, provide Agency education and introduce opportunities to PODs.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing business plans for specific Agencies and/or Agency Segment and adapting plans to changing dynamics within a market using an understanding of Agency business issues, objectives and growth strategies to uncover opportunities with new or existing Agency clients and use knowledge of trends, economic drivers and competitive dynamics in Agencies to increase sales effectiveness with specific Agencies or within an Agency Segment.
  • Discovering Agency needs by researching, listening, asking questions and analyzing campaigns within and across Industry Verticals serviced by an Agency and use that information, as well as integrating Vertical Marketing Group materials and participation into presentations and discussions, to optimise sales success within existing Agency base.
  • Transferring Agency knowledge to the sales and support teams and encouraging them to use Agency-speak in conversations and materials and coordinating with support and service teams within Google to deliver basic support services to Agency personnel in Agency-Specific or Agency-Wide delivery formats.
  • Establishing, verifying and maintaining clear, realistic expectations with key Agency contacts and Google partner constituents, even in dynamic situations and managing sales pipeline within an Agency Segment/s to meet and exceed revenue targets by leveraging various sales tools, reports and analyses.
  • Enabling sales efficiency and effectiveness by gaining access to key decision makers within specific Agencies. Growing Agency sales and satisfaction with Google.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).

Preferred qualifications:

  • A team player with strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.
  • 10 years experience in integrated marketing communication sales or media sales.
  • Knowledge of and established relationships within advertising industry in China.
  • A deep understanding of the industry's issues, a vision for its growth, and a commitment to advance Google's forward-looking strategies within the marketplace.
  • Strong presentation, analytical and problem solving skills.
