The role: Country Marketing Manager, Canada

As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.

As the Country Marketing Manager, you will be a key member of the Canadian leadership team - working closely with all the leaders in Sales, PR, Policy, Product, etc. You will be responsible for designing and executing marketing strategy for all product lines - business and consumer. You will be a key driver of over 50% of the revenue growth in the country. This role reports to the VP of Marketing for the Americas.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new B2B marketing programs aiming to bring more companies online and use Google’s online marketing tools. Create and execute on B2C programs that stimulate use of Google, Chrome, Android and YouTube services and also enhance brand perception and reputation.
  • Lead and develop a highly motivated team of marketers in Canada.
  • Drive Chrome from #2 to #1 browser.
  • Be the expert on consumer behavior across the internet, mobile, and video behaviors. Market to all segments: consumer, small advertisers, large advertisers, large and small agencies, partners.
  • Drive development of the online advertising industry, including facilitating growth of SEM Agencies.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
  • 10 years experience in marketing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Broad marketing experience in the market, ideally with strong internet, online services/media industry experience; strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market and understanding of the search, online advertising, or web publishing markets.
  • Excellent business sense, problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and geographies. Lead non-hierarchical, cross-functional working teams who don't report into this role.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, fluency in English. French is an added advantage.
