Google acquired the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate operations in March 2008. Together, we're creating new opportunities for monetization, expansion, and innovation in affiliate marketing.

Performics was founded as the first full-service affiliate network in 1998 and was acquired by DoubleClick in 2004. Today Performics Affiliate operates as Google Affiliate Network and remains committed to delivering affiliate channel growth for advertisers and publishers.

Art Select

Background

Art Select originally managed dual affiliate marketing program with Google Affiliate Network (formerly DoubleClick Performics) and another affiliate marketing network. In 2005, Art Gazebo consolidated both programs with Google Affiliate Network in an effort to realize the full potential of affiliate marketing. In doing so, Art Select minimized the internal effort required to manage a dual program and grow sales through an efficient, consolidated program with Google Affiliate Network. Despite the ongoing sales growth achieved for Art Select for more than five years, their goals call for ongoing growth, year over year.

Google Affiliate Network provides Art Select with a full-service affiliate marketing program which enables the internal program manager to concentrate on strategic decisions rather than tactical initiatives. The Director of Online Marketing at Art Select reviews all proposed program changes and new initiatives and works with Google Affiliate Network to provide data and analyses to justify additional spend in the channel.

Outcomes

  • Year-over-year sales grew by
    • 166% (Q1 2006 – 2007)
    • 62% (Q2 2006 – 2007)
    • 23% (Q3 2006 – 2007)
  • Loyalty and other cash back sites have become a big part of the program:
    • In Q4 2005, Art Select’s top ten affiliate partners included five loyalty/rewards sites
    • In Q4 2006, these five sites drove 330 percent more sales than in Q4 2005
    • Today, eight of Art Select‘s top ten affiliate partners are loyalty/rewards sites
  • Art Select’s Director of Business Development successfully leveraged the Google Affiliate Network and reclaimed lost time to focus on strategic issues within this and other channels
