  1. What is the Developer Directory?

    The Developer Directory is a listing of Google Gadget Ads developers. Developers who have received Google qualification are identified by an icon next to their profile picture.


  2. What is the Learning Center?

    The Learning Center is an external website from which we administer the qualification exams and track other qualification requirements. Upon being accepted to the program, you will be given access to the Learning Center with instructions on how to access it.

    The Google Qualified Gadget Ads Expert program is an evaluation model only. You are fully responsible for preparing yourself to meet qualification requirements. More information on qualification requirements is available in the Study Guide.


  3. How do I become qualified as an Individual or Company?

    To become a Qualified Individual in the Google Qualified Gadget Ads Expert program, you'll need to accomplish the following:

    1. Sign up for the program successfully and be in good standing. This means that you've accepted the Terms and Conditions and aren't in violation of them.
    2. Achieve and maintain a passing qualification score based on your references, active gadgets, community participation and grades on the qualification exams.


    Please note that you must continuously maintain all requirements to retain your Google Qualified Gadget Ads Expert status. This means that you may need to re-take the qualification exams if they expire. Current exams will expire whenever they are replaced by an exam update. Updates will be created whenever there is a significant change to a relevant API. You will be notified when the exam is updated, and will be given 60 days to take the updated exam. In some cases a delta exam containing only updated content may be available.

    To become a Qualified Company in the Google Qualified Gadget Ads Expert program, a company must:

    1. Employ at least two Qualified Individuals in the program. Individuals must be qualified under the main company registered in the Developer Directory. See the requirements for becoming a Qualified Individual.
    2. Maintain the minimum qualification score for each qualified individual.


  4. Is there any training provided by Google?

    No. The content areas in the exam are detailed, but developers are responsible for learning the materials themselves. More information on qualification requirements is available in the Study Guide, and there are API references and tutorials on the Gadget Center and Google Gadget Ads sites.

  5. What is a Google Qualified Gadget Ads Expert?

    Expert level qualification is a recognition of professional qualification pertaining to the Google Gadget Ads API and issues specific to Google Gadget Ads. Qualified individuals within the Google Qualified Gadget Ads Expert program have passed the General Gadget Qualification Exam and the Google Qualified Gadgets Ad Expert Exam and have met other requirements in order to achieve this level of recognition.

    In addition to having demonstrated proficiency with the development of gadgets, the Gadgets Ads Expert has also demonstrated proficiency in issues related to the Gadget Ads API and issues specific to Gadget Ads, such as the difference between iGoogle Gadgets and Gadget Ads, an understanding of pertinent AdSense, AdWords, and Rich Media IAB Policies, Branding, interaction and click-through tracking, and technology issues such as the use of embedded Flash, caching assets, and streaming videos.

    By attaining individual or company qualification, you'll receive:

    • Google's recognition as a tested and Qualified Gadget Ads Expert individual or company.
    • The official Google Qualified Gadgets Developer logo, which can be displayed on your website and in many other materials to showcase your skills and help attract clients.
    • Distinction as a skilled professional.
    • Your entry in the Developer Directory, which profiles your business name and displays Google's validation that you're an authentic Google Qualified Gadgets Developer individual or company within oogle Qualified Gadgets Developer program.
    • A warm, fuzzy feeling for this grand accomplishment.
