Best performance: Placement Performance report

Want to know where your ads are showing on Google's content network? Wondering how they're performing on each site?

With Placement Performance reports, you can view site-by-site ad performance metrics, including clicks, impressions, cost, and conversions. Coupled with conversion tracking, a Placement Performance report becomes a powerful tool that can show you which placements are meeting your ROI objectives and which aren't. And you can create a Placement Performance report right in your account's Report Center.

To help you make the most of your Placement Performance report, try starting with these best practices:

  • Think in terms of conversions. Use the conversion data to understand how individual sites are converting for you.
  • Wait for enough data to accrue. You may see that some sites have accrued very few impressions or clicks – try waiting for more data to accrue before taking action. You might find that these sites convert and deliver significant value once enough statistics have accumulated.
  • Focus by sorting. Find the metrics that matter the most by sorting your data by fields like Clicks or Cost. This will help you determine the domains or URLs where your ads are getting the most exposure. Next, analyze your conversion data for these sites to determine your next steps.
