AdWords Retail Newsletter

April 2007

Family matters

Spring has sprung, April showers are falling here at Google, and an important retail season is on the horizon. The time has come when shoppers far and wide pay tribute to Mom and Dad. According to the National Retail Federation, Mother’s Day ties with Valentine’s Day as the second-largest spending holiday in the U.S.

A growing number of shoppers are turning to the Internet to buy tokens of their appreciation. In May 2006, comScore Networks reported that online spending in the Flowers & Gifts category in the week prior to Mother’s Day 2006 increased by 16 percent over the same period in 2005.

In this issue of the AdWords Retail Newsletter, you’ll find a number of tips to help you capitalize on this trend with your AdWords campaigns. We’ve also included a recap of the winter holidays and an introduction to Google Apps, a set of free communication and collaboration tools designed for businesses and groups.

Happy Spring!
