International insights: Google Trends

5 of 5

Whether you're looking for opportunities to promote your products or interested in knowing more about search patterns across the globe, Google Trends can help you find answers. It allows you to see and compare how users are searching for information.

You can use Google Trends to optimize your international campaigns in a number of ways:

  • Get overall volume information about the search terms you enter, like the popularity of the terms over time and when those terms appeared in related news stories. You can get information by countries and regions around the world, as well as by language.
  • TIP: Identify new regions to geographically target and create location-specific AdWords campaigns to further control your advertising.

  • Compare two or more keywords to one another. Which term is more popular in Pakistan: network security or network solutions? Enter up to five search terms together to uncover the relative search trends for each one.
  • TIP: Add new relevant keywords that are popular in particular regions to your location-specific campaigns. Adjust their bids to make sure your ads are visible and reaching your target audience.

  • View seasonal fluctuations for search terms. You can adjust the date range you're viewing to see information by month, by year, or over all years since 2004.
  • TIP: Adjust your campaign date ranges or budgets for any anticipated seasonal fluctuations. Increase budgets to take advantage of upcoming spikes in traffic, or reallocate budgets to other campaigns during traffic lulls.
