Your ads can reach viewers across the United States, on satellite or cable TV networks, depending on where you have chosen to target your ads.

Select your networks

Choose the networks on which you'd like your ad to air, keeping your target customer in mind. If your ad is relevant to the audience watching the programming content surrounding your ad, you're likely to see better results. Additionally, you should select networks that tend to attract viewers who fit the demographic of your target customer.

If you aren't sure which networks best reach your target customer, Google TV Ads can create a schedule for you that maximizes your ad reach to these demographics. Simply click on the "Add targets" button on the Targets tab. You will then arrive at the "Research" tab and be able to check your desired demographics.

Select your dayparts

Choose the dayparts during which you'd like your ad to air. Dayparts should also be selected with your target customer in mind. For example, late night programming is more likely to be watched by young adults, while weekday early afternoon and weekend morning programming is more likely to reach children.

Select or block programs

Program targeting is a great way to reach your target audience when your message is most relevant. Use the search-based program targeting feature to find and target relevant content within your TV campaigns. Simply enter a keyword to search for program results. You may want to enter the keywords you target in your online ad campaigns and see which TV programs are most relevant. You may also want to search for certain topics, products or even your brand name. You'll find "exact matches", where your keyword matches with program title, description, cast, genre, episode information, or networks. You'll also find "broad matches" which consider other sets of words that are related to your keyword in order to determine which TV programs are relevant to you.

If you'd like to avoid specific programs, you can block them from being included in your campaign schedule by clicking "Switch to blocking mode" and excluding those programs from your campaign.

Block networks / dayparts

If you'd like to block certain networks and programs from your campaign, simply select those networks and times on the "Research tab". Then, click on the "Switch to blocking mode" and exclude those networks and dayparts from your campaign. This feature is especially useful if you are trying to manage traffic to call centers during open hours.
