Select your target market

Choose where you'd like your ad to run: nationally, nationally plus available local markets, or just in local markets you select.

Select your networks

Choose the networks on which you'd like your ad to air, keeping your target customer in mind. If your ad is relevant to the audience watching the programming content surrounding your ad, you're likely to see better results. Additionally, you should select networks that tend to attract viewers who fit the demographic of your target customer.

If you aren't sure which networks best reach your target customer, Google TV Ads can create a schedule for you that maximizes your ad reach to these demographics. Simply click on the "Get suggestions by target audience" tab and check your desired demographics.

Select your dayparts

Choose the dayparts during which you'd like your ad to air. Dayparts should also be selected with your target customer in mind. For example, late night programming is more likely to be watched by young adults, while weekday early afternoon and weekend morning programming is more likely to reach children.

Select or block programs

Use the search-based program targeting feature to target or block specific programs within their TV campaigns. For instance, if you know that your target audience watches specific programs, you have the option of selecting those particular program as part of your campaign schedule. Search results are based not only on matches with program title, but also the program description, cast, genre, episode information, and networks. So, if you don’t know which specific programs to target, you can search for programs you might not have known about. For example, you may want to search for topics such as “fashion” or “health” and add relevant program results to your campaign schedule.

In addition, if you’d like to target broad networks and dayparts but want to avoid specific programs within those dayparts, you can also block those specific programs from being included in your campaign schedule by clicking “block” next to the appropriate program listing.
