Google The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Recommendation letter

Dear Referee,

Dr. Anita Borg (1949-2003) devoted her adult life to revolutionising the way we think about technology and dismantling barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields. The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: Europe, the Middle East and Africa is part of Google’s ongoing commitment to further Anita’s vision by encouraging women to excel in technology fields and become active role models and leaders.

Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic performance, leadership experience and demonstrated passion for computer science. Since letters of recommendation are a key component in evaluating scholarship applicants, we would like to learn more about the applicant from you. Specifically, we would like information with regards to the applicant’s technical as well as academic achievements, leadership skills, community involvement, and personal qualities.

Recommendation letters are preferably written on official letterhead, must be signed, scanned in PDF format, and given to the applicant. The applicant must submit the complete application packet by 26th January 2009.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to write a recommendation for your Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship applicant.

Kind regards,
Google Global University Programmes
