Android Phone

Google Apps for Android phones and tablets

Native Android applications

Google applications come pre-installed on most Android devices. Just sign in to your Android phone with your Google Apps username and password, and your email, calendar and contacts will automatically be synced on the go, and use Google Talk to IM from your phone.

Applications in the mobile browser

Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs are also available as streamlined mobile web experiences – an easy way for students or faculty to check email and make minor edits to documents while on-the-go. Bookmark google.com/m from your phone's browser and add a shortcut to your homescreen for easy access.

Tablet support, today.

Students and faculty using more powerful mobile devices, such as tablets like the Xoom or iPad, can use the full-featured desktop version of Docs to edit documents and spreadsheets -- without having to download or purchase additional software.

Mobile device management

Administrators can manage their users' Android devices with a set of mobile device management policies designed to let users access their data while keeping organizational information secure. These policies include the ability remotely wipe data from lost or stolen devices, require a device password, set password strength requirements, and more.

2-step verification

2-step verification provides additional security for Google Apps accounts. When enabled by a Google Apps administrator, 2-step verification requires users to sign in with their passwords (something they know) and a code from their phone (something they have). Codes can be obtained on Android phones via the free Google Authenticator Android app, text message, or a phone call.
