Nick Reynolds - All good questions!Feb 9
Dave Winer - Oooh I kind of like that the responses show up in GMail. You know that's what I check all the time, even more often than Twitter.Feb 9
Francine Hardaway - So far I am liking it too, but what if I didn't know FF?Feb 9
Dave Winer - I think you'd be okay if you didn't know FF.Feb 9
Dave Winer - But sheez it sure is a lot like FF. What I don't get is are these things on the web or are they in my mailbox. Is there a permalink to this item?Feb 9
Nick Reynolds - Cool.Feb 9
Mark Cooper - There is no limit and there is a full API.Feb 9
Jordi Soler - Very Friendfeed-like, dare I say.
I have one question though: how can I follow you if I'm interested in your Buzzes? (do we call them that?)
Feb 9
Mark Cooper - Think of it as Friendfeed 1.5.Feb 9
sally duros - OK. so I see it. So where does all this fit in the the New News Ecosystem?Feb 9
Susan Beebe - Hi Dave, glad to see you're on Buzz too - and YES, it is a complete rip off of FriendFeed :)Feb 9
Michael Stanclift - NiceFeb 9
sally duros - and I have yet ANOTHER profile. say bye bye to privacy forever.Feb 9
John Evan Frook - Works goodFeb 9
Philip Arnason - Yes, saw it just fine in the latest news google streamFeb 9
John Craft - Someone put FriendFeed in my GMail!Feb 9
Bill Rice - Mark, I agree very FriendFeed like. That was my first reaction. And I loved FriendFeed.Feb 9
Thomas Landini - The first Buzz tweet showed up in Friendfeed via Twitter.Feb 9
Nick Bergus - So, if I comment on your Buzz thing (what's it called? A buzz? A tweet? A post?) will if give me Buzz in Gmail? Also, I don't know if this has a limit or not, so I'm going to keep typing until it tells me to stop. Sorry in advance for the long reply, but we gotta find the limit somehow. I can "like" it. Will that, combined with Google Reader "likes" get me more interesting Buzz? Hopefully better e-mail, too. :) No limit hit yet... Maybe Dave got his wish.

I can edit, too, which is nice.
Feb 9
Nick Reynolds - I just received a Buzz comment in my IMAP mail box on my iPhone and it had permalinkFeb 9
Curtis Coleman - Achievement unlocked!Feb 9
George Tsiolis - Definitely FriendFeed-like. I like it.Feb 9
Tom Gindrup - NiceFeb 9
Mark Cooper - I can't see Buzz in my gmail yet, but I am obviously using it here. WeirdFeb 9
Mark Eichin - API info here: http://code.google.com/apis/buzz/ and looks like it builds on RSS and XFN/FOAF.Feb 9
Brian Kelly - I'm not seeing Buzz in my Gmail yet, but apparently I can respond to this? Testing...Feb 9
Allison Jacobsen - I just wanted to make a comment because I don't have it yet. I can't say that I am ready to divide my attention to add a new network, even if it will be convenient.Feb 9
Francine Hardaway - Yes it will. But you can't share your answer by posting to buzz by email yet in the desktop unless you are on google's A listFeb 9
Jose Castillo - Dig it - Friendle Buzzfeedish -Feb 9
Michael Podrazik - API: http://code.google.com/intl/en/apis/buzz/
atom + pubsubhubbub + oauth + salmon + webfinger = holy freakin' crap!
Feb 9
Francine Hardaway - Ah, that's how you post! The permalink. DuhFeb 9
Brian Heys - @Brian Kelly, I've got the same issue. I can Like and Comment, but I don't see Buzz in my GMail either yet.Feb 9
Jordi Soler - OK, I got it: if I want to follow people I have to do it through their Google Profile page. Interesting...Feb 9
Tom Gindrup - Like FF for GMail but only on the iPhone? #whatsupwiththatFeb 9
Nick Bergus - The e-mail thing is nice, but my inbox is going to get awfully annoying awfully fast.Feb 9
Mayank Chandak - This looks great. google will keep attempting twitter killer. this just might be it :)Feb 9
Greg Cieslik - Wow, the release of Google Buzz really slowed down my productivity today. Except for the creative juices, that is....Feb 9
Mark Rosch - Yes, could read it in Twitter. Still waiting for activation in my Gmail account. Sad that Buzz on my iPhone doesn't seem to (auto) recognize my Google Profile.Feb 9
Rob Amend - I like it, but I'm waiting to see how it handles the traffic these first few hours. I linked it to Twitter, but my most recent tweets haven't displayed in Buzz. Maybe I've been filtered as 'uninteresting.'Feb 9
james munn - Is there a buzz layer on regular google maps?
No buzz in gmail yet but it looks cool on Android maps. I buzzed first at the cheeseboard while in Tennessee. Woot!
Feb 9
Steve Garfield - Hello world of comments.Feb 9
Richard Lusk - @Nick Bergus It looks like Buzz cuts your post off at 137 with 3 periods and a "Expand this post" linkFeb 9
sally duros - Thanks for pointing out the permalink ....does this fit in with Wave somehow?Feb 9
Mark Cooper - Winer is going to slam this for not supporting his real time RSS service. What is it called again?Feb 9
Francine Hardaway - I just found a downside. I have an email from every person I'm following on Buzz already. When it gets active, I'lll be overwhelmed with.....email! So what's new?Feb 9
Mark Cooper - Another problem, it doesn't autoupdate like Friendfeed. I had to refresh to see new commentsFeb 9
barbara trumpinski-roberts - I haven't figured out how to get buzz but I think this answered thing works...I'd rather have a separate thing for buzzes...we'll seeFeb 9
Jim Posner - Had to comment,Feb 9
Nick Bergus - @Richard Lusk Thank you. I can still see the whole thing in my view.Feb 9
Michael Stanclift - Buzz alerts may be more annoying than Facebook. Feb 9
John Evan Frook - You know, Godfather, you used the F word when you started this thread. Its profane, you know...Here are the two tweets this thread inspired:
Checked out Buzz atThe Godfather's (Dave Winer's) suggestion. Is Twitter as screwed as Powderfinger's protagonist? http://bit.ly/cC49zB

Do you see parallels between protagonist's narrative in Powderfinger and Twitter? Here are the lyrics, http://bit.ly/csSHpB
Feb 9
Robert Liander - Looks good.Feb 9
Greg Cieslik - Alright - anyone know how to get this to stop emailing me??Feb 9
Eileen Doll - trying this out, but not sure what is going on!Feb 9
Richard Lusk - @Greg Cieslik +1Feb 9
Tom Gindrup - just uninstall itFeb 9
kosso . - apparently, delegated authorization with OAuth is "coming soon" - so I guess we have to wait for that before we can build apps which post to buzz.Feb 9
Rob Amend - If you have access to Buzz and you want to stop receiving comments from this post, I think you can click 'mute this post' in the drop down box by 'Comment' in the upper right hand corner of the post.Feb 9
Nico Pitney - ...Feb 9
Alexander Ainslie - @GoogleBUZZ = a bit of @yelp + @4sq + @twitter + @facebook + a touch of @LinkedIN on the biz side thrown in for good measure, right?Feb 9
Rob Amend - When I clicked 'Mute...' the entire post disappeared from Buzz and from Gmail. A search in Buzz pulled it back up and allowed me to 'Unmute' it.Feb 9
dotJorge nyc - trying it out...Feb 9
Robert Liander - I'm in the same predicament as Greg...no Buzz link in Gmail == message diarrhea in my inboxFeb 9
Bart Pycke - testing out how this worksFeb 9
Luke Leung - testing hereFeb 9
Umang Beri - Buzzz?? I'm just leaving a comment to see how it is until I get buzz in my gmail. Do I need to get an image of a bee??Feb 9
Rodney Mitchell - Looks like you can only see what someone posts on their Buzz, not their Buzz activity on others'. How do I see @dave_winer's comments on other Buzzes?Feb 9
jodie ellis - hmmm... testing hereFeb 9
Mads Kristiansen - Buzz buzz!Feb 9
carlos henriquez - BuzzFeb 9
vijay gade - i like this killer...bye bye facebook & twitter and what not social sitesFeb 9
Craig Kanalley - This is great. Good discussion.Feb 9
Bill Rice - Important question: How do you "kill a buzz?" This one now continues to invade my email inbox.Feb 9
Jamie Atkinson - @Rob.Amend Although its gone from your Gmail Inbox it should still be in your "All Mail" with a 'muted' icon next to it.

Alternatively you can just search using "is:muted" in Gmail search (Not Buzz search). Then you can unmute from there. Hope that helps
Feb 9
John Rigdon - Hello Buzz World. I guess I need to try this if I'm going to have an opinion of my own!Feb 9
peachanan rojwongsuriya - Testing as well. Looks very interesting imo.Feb 9
Orcun Akca - buzzzzzzzzzzzz... can't see it in my gmail account, but I can post comments here... buzzzzzzzzzFeb 9
Drew Shrock - why cant i get to mine? i really wanna check it out but can't cause it's not showing up... =/Feb 9
Francine Hardaway - Complaint: Dave has left the conversation, but I'm still gtting an email update from him. @billrice, you nailed itFeb 9
BC Capps - Still waiting for Buzz to show up in my gMail. I expect that it won't meet all of my needs, but am very interested to see how it evolves (especially if they integrate full read/write to/from Twitter and Facebook.) Hopefully I won't be as turned off as @dave.winer appears to be after just 15 minutes of use. Oh well...Feb 10
Robert Scoble - I see your blog that you aren't very happy with it. So far I'm not sure how I feel about it. Seems like it's a copy of what we had on FriendFeed a year ago.Feb 10
Konrad Neuwirth - Well, I would indeed try this, but I don't yet have it in my Gmail. I feel ... left out by the future. Skipped, maybe.

"Maybe the future just isn't that much into you."
Feb 10
Meggy Labour Tangman - Me too welcome to you then **Feb 10
Shijia Lou - Google says it will be API soon and it seems no 140 limit nowFeb 10
Jeremy Zilar - Google Buzz seems like a smart merge of Google Wave and Gmail.Feb 10
Sam Davyson - Do comments on other people's buzzes go to your Google Profile...?Feb 10
Scott Maentz - @Sam It doesn't look like comments are posted to your profile.Feb 10
Sam Davyson - No it seems they are not... which seems in one way a good way to keep down noise but also perhaps a missed opportunity. Certainly makes stalking people harder which is good I suppose. - by the way if you reply to a buzz by email (e.g. from Thunderbird or from your iPhone Mail app) it doesn't add it as a comment it screws it right up and adds it like an email underneath!Feb 10
Michael Elliot - Welcome to Buzz Dave :)Feb 10
Robert Linthicum - Welcome!Feb 10
Michael Silverton - If it's not compatible with RSSCloud, it's broken. ;-) Remains to be seen, I reckon. Why permalinks aren't all already goo.gl'd from the git-go is a bit befuddling.Feb 10
Robert Linthicum - Will come out of beta six years after launch, a la Gmail.Feb 10
sally duros - I just posted the 100th comment on this string....It seems that Buzz is the perpetual tweeter.Feb 10
Peter Stuifzand - Permalinks aren't goo.gl'd because they are PERMAlinks. They can't be permalinks if they are wrapped in some other stuff.Feb 11
John Green - @Dave Winer I hope you do post some of the thought provoking threads that you are passionate about. I love reading your thoughts on technology.Feb 11
Tom Paladino - @Dave, hope you plan on importing your blog posts to Buzz. Would love to see some of the lively comments you provoke over here too...Feb 11
AAfter Search - @Dave I am impressed by your Tweets.. hence, following you here..Feb 12
Chris Sparno - Welcome Dave, glad you are here.Feb 12
Tom Simpson - Full API... no limit.Feb 12
Thomas Hawk - Hi Dave.Feb 12
David Cooley - Google Buzz API - Google Code http://bit.ly/b6hoAIFeb 12
ester cohen - So did i it looks quite simple, I think that the fact that it is part of your email makes it very convenientFeb 12
jacob bayless - I doubt more than a hundred items in Dave's inbox is terribly convenient for him...

I think I'd be "unfollow, unfollow, block, block, block..." if I was Dave. Might even do it simply because I'm Jake! :) (sorry to add to the chaff, Dave)
Feb 12
Jacopo Gio - So, Dave, is this the definitive Twitter's killer ? ;-)Feb 12
Mac Beach - That's it?Feb 28
