Major Speakers: Dunya Mikhail
Poet Dunya Mikhail will discuss the role of art, poetry, and censorship in the Arab society. The 2001 United Nations Award for Human Rights recipient will also talk about her personal experience as an Iraqi exile and read selections from her work, which includes four published poetry collections: The Psalms of Absence, Almost Music, The War Works Hard, and Diary of a Wave Outside the Sea.
