Summer of Hope meeting

Hi Everybody,

At our small (but mighty!) meeting on Sunday we discussed the tasks of the various Hope Walk fundraising committees, and I think we're ready to roll!

PLEASE come to our next meeting: Wed., April 4th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Red Letter Cafe on the north side of Calvary Chapel, Boise, adjacent to Franklin Street. We decided to try a weekday evening to see if that would be more convenient for people, although we know that in many cases one parent will need to stay home to care for the kids while the other comes to the meeting. We DO hope you'll come! With many people involved, it will be much more fun and also much easier because we'll all just have a "bit" in our area of interest to accomplish for the Hope Walk. If possible, email me to let me know you'll be there. Thanks!

At our meeting we'll pray for the Lord's continued guidance and blessing on this whole project and then we'll divide into the 4 "teams" to get the Hope Walk underway. If you're willing to help with the Hope Walk, but haven't made a committee selection yet, here are the choices:
1) Publicity and Media Team
We'll be publicizing the HOPE WALK throughout the Treasure Valley via radio PSAs, TV, newspapers, church bulletins, signs, and banners because this is our primary way of raising the money it will take to bring the orphans from the Philippines ($3000 each) for a Summer of Hope, and hopefully (Lord willing) to end up with a Christian adoptive family. This team will also invite a well-known speaker to anchor the Hope Walk, radio station to do a live broadcast, and seek newspaper coverage of the event.

2) Business and Donor Team
This team will contact businesses and corporations seeking major donations, sponsorships of specific parts of the Hope Walk (ex. snacks, drinks, port-a-potties, culminating BBQ food, brochures), give-aways (ex. T-shirts, water bottles), prizes for awards at the end of the walk, and matching funds all in exchange for free advertising.

3) Team Building Team
This group will be networking and recruiting Hope Walk teams from businesses, youth groups, sports teams, Bible studies, church groups, work environments, school groups, adoptive families, foster families, professional groups, etc. They will deliver and explain the Walk packets to the teams, and help with some of the Hope Walk details such as registration table, set up, and tear down.

4) After Walk Celebration Team
This team will plan the celebration which will end the Hope Walk. They will plan the menu, coordinate cooking or catering, arrange for beverages, decorations, and music, and help with set up and tear down.

PLEASE let me know that you'll join us in this fun fundraising endeavor! (Hit the Reply button and let me know the committee you'd like to help or call me at 672-8560). We really need your help and enthusiasm in order to bring the children to Boise from the Philippines this summer!

Please mark your calendar NOW for the Summer of Hope meeting on Wed., April 4th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Red Letter Cafe! See you then!!!

In Him,
Beth
