An alternative press is defined as a print publication that prints weekly or monthly news in a particular region/city, editorial publications such as The Nation, and web publications that demonstrate a strong editorialship and standing. New media such as blogs and wikis are not included in this search engine--there is still a strong emphasis of authorship and approval process with regards to the publications searched in this search engine.
