Thank you for your interest in the Google RISE Awards Program! The application portal for 2010 funding is now open. The application deadline is Sunday, November 22, 2009.

Application Process (2009/10 Award cycle)

All applicants will be asked to fill out a general application form and submit a two-page detailed proposal including organization and program description. Additional required documentation includes a program budget, and optionally, applicants can also submit a letter of reference or recommendation.

A cross-functional team of Google volunteers will evaluate all applications based on the following criteria:

• Overall strength of application
• Measurable impact on traditionally underrepresented groups in science and technology (Women, African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, People with Disabilities) and economically disadvantaged students
• Track record of success (for established organizations)
• Sustainability of project beyond Google funding period
• Potential for dissemination and sharing of best practice (scalability)
• Opportunities for involvement of Google and its employees
