This experimental site set up by English Heritage www.english-heritage.org.uk uses a Google search engine to search only those web sites and pages with content relating to guidelines, policy statements and standards relevant to the UK heritage and historic environment sectors.
Search for the names of techniques, materials, procedures etc. e.g. thatch or "geophysical survey" or lime + mortar or Conservation Area.
