Google RISE Awards

Google RISE - Roots in Science and Engineering - Awards are grants designed to promote and support Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science education initiatives for K-12/Primary and Secondary students around the world.

As technology increasingly defines how we perceive and interact with the world around us, the need for talented computer scientists grows stronger. For students everywhere to have an opportunity to become creators - and not just consumers - of tomorrow’s innovations, it is vital to expand access to Computer Science education through programs that inspire, engage, and retain top talent.

Google partners with organizations around the world to achieve this goal through community building, international collaboration, and consultancy on engineering, entrepreneurship and organisational development.

In 2013 Google awarded funding to 30 education partners across 18 countries. The application portal for the next cohort of award recipients will open in August 2013 for 2014 partnership.
