its full potential. We worked with Google Certified Teachers to develop a
set of nine modular and practical
lessons
to help
educators do just that. |

Google and the Guggenheim Museum teamed up to launch the Design It: Shelter Competition. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's School of Architecture, this global competition challenges participants to create a shelter in 3D using Google SketchUp and geo-locate in Google Earth. |

Happy National Teacher's Day!
Google is celebrating National Teacher's Day by announcing our next GTA - in Boulder 2009! The Google Teacher Academy hits the mountains of Colorado on August 5, 2008. Applications now open until MIDNIGHT, July 3rd, 2009.

The Henry Hudson 400 Foundation has just added a Google Map to their website (http://www.henryhudson400.com/), chock full of Henry Hudson history: ancient maps, early harbor and coastline illustrations, stories of the first New Yorkers, photos, 3D models of Hudson’s ship the Half Moon, and of course, the routes Henry Hudson sailed. Students can explore the map to learn about geography, history, geneology, and technology.

Students (and educators) can now ask President Obama questions on what matters most to them! Read more on the Official Google Blog and vote on the important questions. There is a special category for questions on the impact of the economy on education, so come vote and speak your mind. |

In November, we launched the Google Ancient Rome in 3D Curriculum Competition in conjunction with a brand-new layer in Google Earth that models the ancient city of Rome in unbelievable detail. Today, we're announcing the winners! Check out the roster and adapt the lessons in your classroom by visiting the competition site today. |

2/4/2009 Once again, Google is pleased to present Doodle 4 Google, a competition where we invite K-12 students to redesign the Google logo inspired by this year's theme, "What I wish for the world." The winning student's design will appear on the Google homepage for a day. Teachers, you'll find everything you need to register your class and get started at the official website. |

2/2/2009 Google Earth 5.0 just launched and its new features will knock your socks off! With historical imagery and a touring feature, students can both go back in time and create easy tours to save and share. And now, with oceans in Google Earth, they can dive beneath the surface to explore underwater canyons, see shipwrecks in 3D, and view content submitted by oceanographers. Learn more. |
