Web-based information publishing and sharing is becoming increasingly critical to your organization's day to day activity. The backbone of this activity is the ability for your users to access important information securely from anywhere. Users have gotten used to the convenience of neatly describing the location of any piece of information as a URL. Unfortunately, the web is a big place and there are lots of URLs. It's likely that the information important to your business will be located at URLs that are long and cumbersome to share verbally or in writing.
Google Short Links is a self-service mechanism that lets your Google Apps users shorten any web URL to something descriptive and memorable. This makes it easier for users to recall the locations of important documents and web sites and it makes it easier for them to share these locations with others in emails, presentations, and hallway conversations.

Google really knows how to make things integrated and easy to use. What an easy service for market branding and just one step ahead of what we are all thinking. You can use your own URL. You can name the short link (e.g. http://goo.gl/custom-URL) or have them create a random short hash for the shortcut. Too good. Just too good.

This lab makes life much easier. I love that I have my own branded links and they are easy to lookup. If Google Analytics could be tied into this it would be the perfect service. Thanks Google!
