Citigroup separates its earnings into two segments, Citicorp and Citi Holdings. Citicorp consists of its core operations, whereas Citi Holdings are its noncore businesses it is seeking to wind down in both a quick and rational way.
Before earnings were released, Citigroup (C) shares were under pressure amidst another stress test failure, legal settlements and overseas branch sales leaving the share price down 12.34% YTD before the earnings release.
Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) reported first-quarter results before markets opened Monday. The investment bank and financial services giant reported adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.23 on revenue of $20.12 billion.
