NovaGold Resources Inc. (NovaGold) is a precious metals company with exploration, development and mining properties in Alaska, United States of America and British Columbia, Canada. The Company conducts its operations through wholly owned subsidiaries and joint ventures and is primarily focused on gold properties, some of which have copper and silver resources. The Company is also engaged in the sale of sand, gravel and land, and receives royalties from placer gold production, from its holdings around Nome, Alaska. Some of the Company’s projects include the Donlin Creek project and Galore Creek project. On July 31, 2008, the Company sold 100% of its NovaGreenPower subsidiary to AltaGas Ltd. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company disposed of its interest in US Gold Corporation. In January 2009, the Company sold its entire interest in Alexco Resource Corp.
