In September 2011, it acquired Garmin Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd. In December 2011, Garmin acquired Garmin Chile Lda. In September 2012, its subsidiary acquired Nexus Marine AB, a designer and manufacturer of instrumentation for the sailing and yachting market.
