The company is the investment banking subsidiary of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), one of Canada's Big Four banks. Its services include debt and equity underwriting, sales, and trading; asset securitization; mergers and acquisitions advice; industry research; merchant banking; foreign exchange; and real estate finance. The company is active mainly in North America, where it has about a dozen locations. It also has nearly 10 additional offices in Asia, Europe, and Australia.
