General Motors of Canada (GMCL) is that country's #1 assembler of cars, trucks, engines, and components. A subsidiary of General Motors, the company operates more than 15 facilities and about 475 dealerships. It exports the bulk of its vehicles to the US. GMCL produces certain models of Chevrolet (Malibu and Cobalt); Buick (Regal and Enclave); Cadillac (CTS sedan and sport wagon); and GMC terrain trucks (Canyon and Savana). It offers hybrid models for its Yukon, Sierra, Tahoe, Silverado, and Escalade, and is launching the all-electric Chevrolet Volt in 2011. GMCL also makes transmissions and other powertrain parts. GM no longer makes Pontiac, Saturn, and HUMMER brands, and it sold Saab to Swedish Automobile.
