When it comes to video sharing, Blip Networks sees the Internet as the perfect forum. Doing business as Blip.tv, the company offers a platform from which it hosts and distributes episodic independent shows, video blogs, and podcasts contributed by show creators. Its contributors, which include anyone from novice directors to known filmmakers, upload their content to Blip.tv's Web site where it can be viewed directly on the site or downloaded to mobile phones and other devices. Typical shows featured on the site include dramas, news, sitcoms, and how-to programs. Blip.tv boasts that it has more than 38,000 shows and around 70 million views a month. CEO Mike Hudack and other investors founded the company in 2005.
