Boise Cascade Holdings (BCH) holds onto a chunk of the North American building materials market through operating subsidiary Boise Cascade. Not only is it the #2 manufacturer of laminated wood, I-joists, and plywood, the company is also one of the largest building materials distributors, offering its own and third-party products from about 50 locations across the US. Customers include lumberyards, home improvement centers, and makers of windows, doors, and other assembled products. Formerly part of Boise Cascade Corporation (now OfficeMax), BCH is controlled by private investment firm Madison Dearborn Partners through Forest Products Holdings. It is spinning off Boise Cascade to the public.
