Virtual toystore eToys Direct makes online shopping a reality for harried parents. From its eToys.com Web site, the company peddles thousands of products, including toys, dolls, games, electronics, and collectibles. It also offers baby gifts and specialty items, such as educational toys (LeapFrog, Vtech). DVDs, kid's room décor, party supplies, and video games (not just educational ones) also grace the virtual shelves at eToys Direct. eToys Direct became a subsidiary of online retailer The Parent Company in 2007. In December 2008 eToys Direct, alongside its parent, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and was sold to toy giant Toys "R" Us in early 2009.
