Mars Petcare US has no quibble with kibble. A leading manufacturer of dry pet foods in the US, with some 15 production plants nationwide, the company makes dry pet foods, soft-dry food, soft treats, and dog biscuits under the Cesar, Pedigree, Royal Canin, and Whiskas brands, among others. Mars Petcare also makes products for other pet food companies, manufactures store brands for its retail customers, and sells its own regional brands. Its customers include mass merchandisers (such as Wal-Mart, Meijer), pet supply chains (PETCO, PetSmart), supermarkets, and farm and feed stores. The company was founded in 1954 as Doane Products and is part of candy and pet food behemoth Mars' pet care division.
