From Canada to Chile, airline TACA (Transportes A�reos Centroamericanos) bridges the Americas. The carrier serves about 90 desinations throughout North and South America as well as the Carribean. It operates a fleet of almost 50 jets, mostly Airbus models, from hubs in Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Peru. Founded as an cargo carrier in 1931, TACA formed a joint venture with Colombian airline Avianca in 2010 called AviancaTaca to expand the carriers' services and flight network. AviancaTaca is two-thirds owed by Avianca's parent, Synergy Aerospace, and one-third owned by TACA's parent, Kingsland Holding Corp. (controlled by the family of TACA CEO Roberto Kriete).
