The Council for Economic Education (CEE, formerly the National Council on Economic Education) works to promote financial literacy by helping students develop economic and personal finance skills and knowledge. The not-for-profit organization provides training and supplementary materials for K-12 teachers through a network of state councils and university centers. Topics include saving and investing for retirement, credit card management, inflation and recession, and government spending. CEE programs annually reach more than 15 million students in the US and in some 30 other nations. The organization was founded in 1949.
