National Car Rental operates through about 3,000 locations in the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Asia. The company markets its services mainly to business travelers, but also to leisure travelers. In particular, National works to develop corporate accounts, and its customers include about one-third of the companies in the FORTUNE 500. Founded in 1947, National and sister company Alamo Rent A Car were acquired by Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 2007 and became part of privately-held Enterprise Holdings in 2009. Together the Alamo, Enterprise, and National brands form a global network of more than 7,600 airport and neighborhood locations.
