Fidelis Care hopes for always faithful health plan members. The New York State Catholic Health Plan, which does business as Fidelis Care, serves more than 750,000 residents in some 60 counties across the state, including the New York City area. Its provider network includes more than 40,000 physicians, hospitals, and other health care professionals and facilities. Fidelis Care provides managed Medicaid, Medicare, and state-sponsored family and children's Health Plus plans. The church-sponsored plan was founded in 1993 by the bishops of New York's Roman Catholic dioceses and the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens.
