Intcomex is IT in Latin America and the Caribbean. The wholesaler distributes computer systems and components, peripherals, software, accessories, networking products, mobile devices, and digital consumer electronics to more than 42,000 customers in 40 countries. Clients are primarily third-party IT distributors, resellers, and retailers. Intcomex offers more than 13,000 products from more than 140 manufacturers, including Apple, Dell, HP, Intel, Microsoft, and Western Digital. Founded in 1988, the company began as a small retail store that sold computer software in South Florida. Today, Intcomex operates sales offices in about a dozen countries. The company filed to go public in 2007, but has yet to do so.
