To be specific, Specific Media sells online advertising. Its proprietary technology allows advertisers to target specific customer segments. The company offers online, mobile, and TV ads as well as interactive display plus video advertising through subsidiary BBE. Specific Media also produces several original Web series shows that integrate product placement with entertainment content; most are aimed at younger, new media savvy audiences. With 10 US locations and about as many in Europe, the company's customers have included Unilever, Coke, Kraft, Philips, Toyota, and AT&T. In mid-2011 Specific Media purchased social networking site MySpace from News Corp. for about $35 million.
