Tinopolis is a large city of independent media companies. Through about a dozen businesses, the company is one of the largest suppliers of television programming to major broadcasters in the UK. Some of its brands include Sunset + Vine (sports), Tinopolis Interactive (interactive educational materials), Pioneer Productions (documentary), Daybreak Pictures (drama), and Mentorn International (entertainment, documentary, and reality programming). The company also produces educational and training materials for the BBC and Britain's Ministry of Defence. Tinopolis was founded by Ron Jones in 1990. The company went public in 2005, and was taken private in 2008 by investment firm Vitruvian Partners.
