Lopez Foods is the Fort Knox of the Hamburglar. The company's primary plant operates around the clock as it grinds, blends, molds, and quick-freezes millions of hamburger patties, pork sausage patties, and Canadian-style bacon for McDonald's restaurants. Lopez Foods also makes chorizo sausage and private-label meat products. Its retail brands include Country Cousin and Quick'N Eat. Besides McDonald's, Lopez Foods' customers are national food giants, such as Wal-Mart and Costco, Burger King, Applebee's, Sonic, and other regional retailers. Lopez Foods, which has plants in Oklahoma and Tennessee, is one of the largest Hispanic-owned meat processors in the US. Chairman emeritus John Lopez controls the company.
