In September 2008, KLA-Tencor completed its acquisition of the Microelectronic Inspection Equipment business unit (MIE business unit) of Vistec Semiconductor Systems. The MIE business unit is a provider of mask registration measurement tools, scanning electron microscopy (SEM)-based tools for mask critical dimension measurement and macro defect inspection systems.
