It doesn't have a Ferris wheel, but Gerland's Food Fair still wants you to visit. The regional supermarket chain, founded in the 1970s by A. J. Gerland, operates about 15 supermarkets under the Food Fair, Food Town, and Grand Market banners in and around Houston, Texas. Gerland's grocery stores feature its own Parade private-label products, including milk and cottage cheese; they also offer carryout food such as Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Antone's Famous Po'Boys (through in-store sandwich shops). Gerland stores also house in-store Check Cashing & More locations, which cash payroll and government checks, sell money orders, stamps, and lottery tickets, and provide copy and fax services, among other activities.
