Wallace Hardware has the Southeast covered wall to wall. The company distributes hardware and other items to about 15 states, mostly in the Southeastern US. Its goods include automotive and industrial products, hardware, housewares and electronics, lawn and garden items, lumber and building materials, paint, tools, and farm supplies. Its 100-plus trucks deliver to PRO Hardware, Golden Link Hardware, and Farm Mart stores, as well as to independent retailers. The company began in 1922 when W.B. Whittaker and Sam Holtsinger opened a hardware store. Owner and CEO Doyle Wallace's grandfather joined the company at its birth and became president in 1932. It became Wallace Hardware in 1944.
