Tasman Metals Ltd. (Tasman) is a junior resource company. Tasman is engaged in the acquisition and exploration of unproven rare earth elements (REE) and iron ore projects in Scandinavia. As of August 31, 2010, Tasman held seven claims in Sweden; 20 claim reservation applications totaling 17,884 hectares and 35 claim applications totaling 2,845 hectares in Finland, and Tasman had submitted seven claim applications covering 208 hectares considered prospective for REEs in Norway. As of August 31, 2010, the Company is the 100% owner of 75 claims and claim applications for metals, including REE in Sweden, Finland and Norway, and the owner of various interests in seven iron ore exploration claims in the Kiruna district. Tasman also held rights to two claims under the Bastnas Joint Venture. Tasman announced on April 26, 2010, it had acquired a 100% interest in three adjoining claim reservations in Finland, Otanmaki 1, 2 and 3 which total 2,626 hectares in size.
