Coal India is one of the largest coal producing companies in the world. The company produces more than 350 million tons annually and provides a wide range of extraction, coal reserve identification, and exploration activities. Established in 1975, the holding company operates through eight subsidiaries, including Eastern Coalfields, Bharat Coking Coal, and Mahanadi Coalfields. Coal India offers consulting services through its Central Mine Planning & Design Institute subsidiary. It accounts for more than three-quarters of India's total coal production.
