"Program it again, Hal," says Burgett, maker of player pianos for the 21st century. Doing business as PianoDisc, the company makes electronic reproduction systems that enable acoustic pianos to automatically play music ranging from Mozart to Broadway show tunes to Billy Joel. The company's SilentDrive technology controls the piano keys precisely enough to create whisper-soft notes. Its Opus7 wireless playback device stores hours of uninterrupted piano music and can be used from any room in the house. The firm's products are sold through more than 600 distributors in 45 countries. Burgett was founded in 1979 by two brothers, co-CEOs Gary and Kirk Burgett, who made their first PianoDisc player in 1989.
