It started a research project in Telenor in 1994, and branched out into an independent development company in 1995. The Company's key products are: Opera for Desktop, a desktop browser; Opera Mobile, a browser that enables to surf the Web on a mobile phone; Opera Mini, a Java-based Web browser allowing access the Web a Web browser; Opera Mobile, an application framework for mobile phones; Opera for Devices which enables browsing to set-top boxes, portable media players and other devices and Opera Dragonfly.
