MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company (MEHC) is a holding company owning subsidiaries that are principally engaged in energy businesses. MEHC, a consolidated subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., and its subsidiaries conduct operations, which are organized and managed as eight platforms: PacifiCorp; MidAmerican Funding, LLC (which primarily includes MidAmerican Energy Company); Northern Natural Gas Company; Kern River Gas Transmission Company (Kern River); CE Electric UK Funding Company (CE Electric UK), which primarily includes Northern Electric Distribution Limited (Northern Electric) and Yorkshire Electricity Distribution plc (Yorkshire Electricity); CalEnergy Generation-Foreign (owning a majority interest in the Casecnan project in the Philippines); CalEnergy Generation-Domestic (owning interests in independent power projects in the United States), and HomeServices of America, Inc. (collectively with its subsidiaries, HomeServices).
